The terms that apply to this website, to the estimates we send and to the work we perform.
These Terms of Service govern your use of signaturefinishcarpentryinc.com, operated by Signature Finish Carpentry, Inc. ("Signature Finish Carpentry", "we", "us" or "our"). By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
This website presents our services and our completed work, and lets you request an estimate. It is informational. Nothing on this site is a contract, a binding offer or a fixed price for any project.
Any price we discuss by phone, email or text before a site visit is a rough range, not a quote. A binding price only exists in a written estimate or proposal signed by both parties. That written document, along with any signed change orders, controls the scope, the price, the schedule and the payment terms of the work, and it takes precedence over anything stated on this website.
Written estimates are valid for the period stated on them. Material prices move, and after that period we may need to reprice.
Additional work requested after the estimate is signed, and conditions that could not reasonably be seen before demolition or before the walls were open, are handled through a written change order that states the added cost and any effect on the schedule.
We give realistic start and completion dates and we work to hold them. Schedules on a construction site depend on other trades, on material deliveries and on inspections, and can shift for reasons outside our control. We will tell you as soon as we know about a delay. Dates given on this website or in conversation are estimates, not guarantees.
Before we start, the work area needs to be reasonably accessible and clear of furniture and personal belongings, with power available. We are careful with your home, we cover floors and clean up daily, but we are not responsible for items left in the work area or for pre-existing conditions such as walls out of plumb, floors out of level, settling, moisture or prior work by others.
Wood is a natural material. It expands and contracts with the seasons, and grain and color vary between boards even in the same species and lot. Minor seasonal movement at joints, small variations in color and grain, and the normal behavior of solid wood are not defects.
Where you supply the materials, we are not responsible for their quality, availability or suitability, and additional labor caused by defective supplied material is billable.
Payment terms, including any deposit and the payment schedule, are stated in the signed estimate or proposal and follow Massachusetts requirements for home improvement work. Balances are due as scheduled. Work may be paused on a project with an overdue balance.
We warrant our workmanship as stated in your signed agreement. The warranty covers our installation. It does not cover normal wear, seasonal wood movement, damage from moisture or structural movement in the building, work performed or altered by others, or products supplied by you or by the manufacturer, which carry their own warranties.
If something in our work is not right, tell us. We would rather come back and fix it.
All photographs, text, the logo and other content on this website belong to Signature Finish Carpentry, Inc. or are used with permission, and may not be copied, reproduced or used elsewhere without our written consent.
We photograph completed work for our portfolio and social media. If you would prefer that your project is not photographed or published, tell us before the job starts.
By submitting the estimate form or giving us your phone number, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text and email about your request. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
To the extent allowed by law, our liability in connection with this website is limited to the amount you paid us, if anything, for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Massachusetts consumer protection law, and nothing here limits liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
This site links to social media profiles and may link to other third party sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any dispute connected to this website or to work performed by us will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, unless the signed agreement provides otherwise.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent update. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
