Built-Ins & Cabinetry
A real built-in fills the opening. No filler strip on one side, no shadow line where the wall bows out, no toe kick that dies into nothing. It reads as part of the architecture because it was fit to the architecture.
That means measuring the space as it is, which is never perfectly square, and scribing the case to the wall and the floor. It is slower than dropping in a stock cabinet and it is the entire difference between custom and assembled.
We also install cabinetry that arrives from a shop or a supplier. Boxes set level and tied together, fillers and end panels fit, light rail, toe kick and crown run so the kitchen ties into the trim in the rest of the house.
Scope
Cubbies, hooks, bench seats and drawers, sized to the family and fit wall to wall.
Adjustable shelving, drawer banks and door systems that use the full depth of the space.
Seat, storage and trim built as one piece, scribed into the jambs so nothing reads as an add-on.
Full height cases with proper backing, wire management and shelves that do not sag.
Boxes set level and shimmed, fillers and panels fit, crown and light rail run to finish it out.
Concealed steel or wood cleats set into blocking, so the shelf holds real weight and stays level.
Process
We measure the opening, talk through what has to fit in it and settle the layout before any material is ordered.
Cases built for that opening, with the doors, drawers and hardware picked to match the rest of the house.
Set in place, scribed to the wall and floor, trimmed out so the seam disappears once it is painted.
Questions
Both. We build site built cases and shelving, and we install shop or supplier cabinetry for kitchens and baths.
Most mudrooms are a few days on site once the material is ready, depending on the size and how much drawer work is involved.
We build for the finish you want and coordinate with your painter or finisher so the color and sheen match what is already there.
Yes. We set kitchen and bath cabinet boxes level, fit fillers and panels, and run light rail, toe kick and crown so the cabinets tie into the rest of the trim.
Mudroom lockers, pantries, closets, window seats, bookcases and entertainment walls, built to the actual opening.
Walls are never perfectly flat or plumb. Scribing the cabinet to the wall removes the gap and the filler strip that give away a unit that was dropped in later.
